El Camino’s Colt Invitational boys’ wrestling tournament turned 10 this year, and three Peninsula Athletic League wrestlers celebrated by winning gold medals.
Burlingame senior Kyle Botelho topped the podium in the 134-pound division; Menlo-Atherton junior Songi Eke did the same in 222s; and San Mateo senior Sam Kolokihakaufisi finished out the event with a first-place win in 287s.

Kolokihakaufisi and Half Moon Bay’s Caspian Grabowski were featured in an all-PAL finale match in the heavyweight division. Kolokihakaufisi earned a first-round pin 31 seconds into the match.
Eke earned a 7-2 decision over Evergreen Valley’s Edward Phan. Botelho pinned Branham senior Nick Melendez.
In addition to Grabowski earning a silver medal, Terra Nova senior Adam Louie (140s) and San Mateo senior William Bradford (197s) took second-place finishes as well.

Other podium finishes include: at 108s, Half Moon Bay sophomore Fernando Diaz-Marquez took third, and South City freshman Brenden Meneses took fourth. Diaz-Marquez defeated Meneses with a third-round pin.
At 115s, Burlingame’s Cian Hennebry took fifth place; at 122s, Burlingame’s Christian Sawyer took fourth; at 128s, Menlo-Atherton senior Josh Meyers took third with a 5-4 decision over Oceana’s Irvin Reyes, who took fourth; at 140s, El Camino senior Aaron Joshua Lacap took fourth; at 147s, Terra Nova senior Edward Ruiz took fourth.
At 154s, Half Moon Bay junior Bryan Thorne took sixth, while Sequoia sophomore Angel Felix took eighth; at 162s, Menlo-Atherton senior Anthony Waller took third, while Half Moon Bay’s Carson Anderson and San Mateo’s Sven Albin Kagedal tied for eighth.
At 172s, Half Moon Bay junior Eddy Lopez took fourth, Menlo-Atherton senior Julian Garcia took fifth, and San Mateo’s Mohammed Sarsour took eighth; at 197s. Half Moon Bay junior Cade Duncan took third; at 222s, El Camino freshman Conor Uniacke took sixth; and at 287s, Terra Nova junior Tory Young took sixth.
Burlingame earned the PAL’s best team finish in 42-team field, taking seventh place with 89 points. The Panthers edged eighth-place Half Moon Bay, which finished with 88 points. San Mateo took 10th with 77.
Evergreen Valley took first place with 163 points, topping second-place Riordan (160) and third-place Palo Alto (158).
