A woman who drove her car the wrong way on Interstate 280 and killed a woman and injured her son in a head-on collision April 22, 2023, was sentenced to nine years state prison, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.
Constellatia Martin, 24, drove her Ford Fusion north in the southbound lane when she collided head-on into a BMW killing a 54-year-old mother, who was driving, and injuring her 16-year-old son, just north of the Woodside Road exit in Redwood City. Martin allegedly fled the scene and police officers found her lying naked on a grassy area 150 yards away from the scene. Martin allegedly was behaving erratically and screaming bizarre statements. She refused to take a sobriety test and declined to answer questions from officers, according to the DA’s Office.
Martin received 1,142 days credit for time served.
- if you injure or kill someone inside a car there is actually a decent chance justice will be served.
- if you injure or kill someone walking or biking, law enforcement will call it an 'accident' and sweep everything under a rug.
Burlingame and the media did a real frame job on the four children that were hurt by the reckless driver and Burlingame's negligence on applying 'Daylighting' laws. If the DA went after the driver, he would have to go after Burlingame as well.

Finally justice for someone killed by an irresponsible driver.
Now, how about some accountability for the driver that recently killed 4-year-old Ayden Fang on a sidewalk in downtown Burlingame?
There is a huge difference here:
- if you injure or kill someone inside a car there is actually a decent chance justice will be served.
- if you injure or kill someone walking or biking, law enforcement will call it an 'accident' and sweep everything under a rug.
