smdailyjournal.com is the interactive, online version of the San Mateo Daily Journal, the Peninsula's independent, locally owned daily newspaper.

The Daily Journal is published six days a week, Monday through Friday, plus a Saturday-Sunday Weekend edition. The newspaper is distributed throughout San Mateo County and northern Santa Clara County, and worldwide through smdailyjournal.com

Our mission is to be the most accurate, fair and relevant local news source for those who live, work or play on the San Francisco Peninsula. By combining local reporting and analysis with business, lifestyle, state, national and world news, we aim to provide readers with the highest-quality information resource on the Peninsula. Our pages belong to you, our readers, and we choose to reflect the diverse character of this dynamic and ever-changing community.

Letters to the Editor should be no longer than 250 words and should include a city of residence. Anonymous letters will not be accepted. 

Perspective pieces (Op-Eds) should be no longer than 780 words. Please include contact information and a print-ready headshot.

We publish Fictitious Business Name Statements (DBAs), Name Changes, Trustee Sales, Probates, Adoption Notices, Bulk Sale Notices and more. Our partners include the County of San Mateo and the cities of Atherton, Belmont, Brisbane, Burlingame, Colma, Daly City, East Palo Alto, Foster City, Half Moon Bay, Menlo Park, Millbrae, Pacifica, Redwood City, San Bruno, San Carlos, San Mateo, South San Francisco, and the towns of Hillsborough, Portola Valley, Woodside.
