I am disappointed that the San Mateo City Council recently chose not to reappoint Seema Patel to the Planning Commission. Instead, the council appointed another candidate and designated Seema as the first alternate.Having served on the commission for five years (and as chair for the past two years), Seema was the most qualified candidate for the position. She knows her stuff, does her homework and truly cares about improving the quality of life in San Mateo.

Planning commissioners should be unbiased, concise, and respectful to the community. The city council did the right thing.
