Editor,

President Trump’s moves in Venezuela are designed to protect America from Chinese imperialism near our border. China’s already building a port “for” Peru that can double as a Chinese naval port not far from the Panama Canal. The loss of the canal would hand the Pacific to China and Russia. Chinese ties in Columbia are rapidly increasing and Russian essentially has a naval port in Havana. Thankfully Joe Biden isn’t president.

Ed - the CCP has also managed to take over the Salvadoran port of Acajutla, the country's main import and export center. Also, for reasons unknown to me, the Salvadoran government allowed the destruction of a Colonial building complex in the down town area and built a monstrous glass and concrete behemoth in its place. The main highways are now jammed with trucks carrying containers filled with Chinese products. The CCP is certainly overreaching in other parts of Latin America. Our news media never report on this national security threat or dismisses Trump's warnings as yet another neocolonial effort.

Thanks for your letter, Mr. Kahl, explaining to leftists yet another reason for President Trump’s master stroke in Venezuela, in addition to sending a message to the world.
