Editor,

Contrary to what letter writer Ed Kahl believes (China and Russian aggression in South America Jan. 15 edition), America had over 200 years to develop friendships and prosperity from Mexico to the tip of South America, but we chose to exploit.

Brilliant synopsis of our distorted Monroe Doctrine taken to self destructive ends. China has the FAR more intelligent approach. We need to learn.

Thank you for your attention to this matter, Mr. Scafani. To respond to your question, the USA is what country I’d want to do business with, as does just about all countries around the world. The USA is the world’s biggest market for them. As for your diatribe on past history…to borrow from Hillary Clinton, “What difference at this point does it make?” We’re not in 1954 or 1964 or 1973 or 1976 or 1989 or 2009. I won’t get into the years of Mexico, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador and Cuba. The bigger question is, “Are you tired of winning under our (yes, our) great President Trump’s Golden Age of America?” Because I’m not, as well as the vast majority of Americans and others around the world. Bigly. Have a Trump-tastic day!
