Brayden Smith went 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles as the Trojans (4-2) banged out 17 hits to roll to the win in a three-game series opener at Shasta College (2-5).
Skyline rode a winning effort from starting pitcher Declan Mendel, clinging to a 1-0 lead through three innings before scoring twice in the fourth and five times in the fifth. Makai Susor added two hits with a double and three RBIs, while Derek Wandvogel and Nick Tobin had two hits and two RBIs apiece.
Mendel worked 5 2/3 innings to earn his first collegiate win. Relievers Anthony Kabrich and Brode Gann combined for 3 1/3 scoreless innings.
Jacob Ryan went 4 for 6 with a double, a home run and six RBIs, as the Bulldogs (6-0) exploded for 26 runs at Napa Valley (3-5) to win their sixth straight to start the year. Aaron Babaev added a home run and four RBIs, while Rocco Giometti had a triple and four RBIs.
Starting pitcher Noah Wright fired six innings of three-hit shutout baseball, and Ben Sunahara and Ryan Kinoshita combined for three hitless frames as the Colts (2-3) blanked Contra Costa (1-4) in Redwood City.
