A 19-year-old man and two 16-year-old boys were arrested following gunfire that struck a parked car and apartment building in Redwood City on Thursday night, according to police.
Officers responded at 8:51 p.m. to reports of shots fired on the 1000 block of Adams Street and arrived to find a vehicle parked in an apartment complex driveway with a gunshot hole in the rear window and multiple bullet strikes to the exterior of an apartment building, Redwood City police said.
Witnesses told police that several people in masks had walked up to an apartment unit and banged on the door, and when it was not opened, they fired multiple rounds and then fled in a vehicle. No one was injured in the shooting, according to police.
A description of the vehicle was shared with other local law enforcement, and a San Mateo County sheriff’s deputy saw a vehicle matching the description on Fifth Avenue and pulled it over, police said.
The driver, 19-year-old Isaac Almanza Villagomez, was arrested and booked into county jail on suspicion of attempted murder and conspiracy, while two 16-year-old boys were arrested for similar offenses and taken to the San Mateo County Youth Services Center. A firearm was also recovered from the car, police said.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Redwood City police nonemergency line at (650) 780-7100 and refer to case R26-02-0201.
