Editor,

Two million people have died in Ukraine so far and peace talks seemed to have been put on the back burner. Russia is still bombing Ukraine and killing its citizens and we seem to be in a pause with peace talks. While they need our help more than ever, Trump seems more interested in going after other countries such as Venezuela, Greenland and Mexico than helping one of our allies. America has lost its compass in this world and it is losing its place as a defender of our allies. We need a new saying to define our nation Make America America again.

Thanks for your letter, Mr. Nice, but I’m not sure why you’re blaming Trump for attempting to fix Biden’s mess. This was never our war and it takes two to tango so if Russia and Ukraine don’t want to dance, so be it. As for Making America America Again, I’m all for it. But MAGA has a better ring to it than MAAA (sounds like a farmer collective).

Dear Robert - where have you been? The US are still supplying Ukraine with weaponry although the Europeans are now paying for them. We are still actively involved in discussions and negotiations with the leaders of Ukraine and Russia. For the first time in a long while we have a President who can walk and chew gum at the same time. Upon Trump's urging, NATO will now be involved in securing Greenland from possible Chinese and Russian aggression. Venezuela is releasing political prisoners and is now allowed to sell its oil on the world market after Trump lifted their targeted sanctions. Get updated from other news sources and realize that there is a new sheriff in town. And no, the SF Chronicle and CNN are not the reliable sources that they were when you were a teenager.

The current conflict goes back to the maidan coup of 2014 in which the elected leader, who was in favor of closer economic ties to Russia instead of Europe and the West. was overthrown in a bloody coup with CIA help. The resulting government had direct ties to the Nazi government that ruled Ukraine in the Second World War and is in power today. They oppressed the minorities in the eastern provinces, which have a large population ethnic Russians, with measures such as banning the Russian language in schools and other government institutions including the election system. Armed Nazi thugs such as the openly Nazi Azov Division were given police powers and terrorized the minorities. This led to armed revolt and an appeal to Russia, whose government voted to give support. This war raged on until Ukraine massed their armed forces on the eastern borders and increased their artillery bombardments signaling a an imminent attack (some say it was a Western-led trap for Russia). Which led to the "Russian Invasion" which was not a grab for territory like Biden and NATO described it, but a fight for the sovereignty of Russia because the countries bordering Russia had been admitted to NATO, and Ukraine was their buffer, and now was ruled by Nazis. A third of the natural resources in the world are in Russia and the West covets it. They had a free reign under the bozo Yeltsin and wanted it back. Meanwhile, the US had helped construct a huge LNG facility in Germany, but Germany instead was about to open a series of pipelines from Russia for natural gas under a better deal. The US and Ukraine blew one up with the result Germany and the EU has to buy US gas at at least four times the price ( https://seymourhersh.substack.com/p/how-america-took-out-the-nord-stream). The US and the EU are using Ukraine as a proxy. From the beginning, Russia has made clear its conditions for peace including the removal of the Nazi leadership of Ukraine. Ukraine now is ruled by fiat and Russia wants free elections there. The people everywhere are sick of this war. Russia will have a Ukraine that is not hostile to it. This can be at the bargaining table or on the battlefield (https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/05/how-europe-was-pushed-towards-economic-suicide.html).

This is why America is dead. Everyone is a psychotic ideologue with no soul.
