I read Burlingame Councilmember Donna Colson’s guest perspective, “Demolition meets democracy,” in the March 2 edition of the Daily Journal.
Instead of being concerned about the White House, she should be focused on Burlingame.
There are many issues that Donna and councilmembers should be working on: returning California Drive to four lanes, forcing Caltrans to do their job and fill the potholes on El Camino Real, enforcing the 2025 state law of painting the 20-foot sidewalk curb red at the crosswalk of 1400 Bellevue Ave., concerns for pedestrian safety that I presented to councilmembers at a City Council meeting a year ago. To date, nothing has been done.
Or the California roundabout that is dangerous because a majority of drivers don’t obey the “YIELD” sign.
Yes to more pedestrian safety in Burlingame. It is shocking that three pedestrians died in a year period and yet there has been no systemic change in how the City handles street safety.

California Drive is fine as is. Much safer.
