On Tuesday, the Daily Journal’s squib “This Day History” reminded us of this event: On Feb. 10, 1936, “Nazi Germany’s Reichstag passed a law investing the Gestapo secret police with absolute authority, exempt from any legal review.”

Actually, Mr. Brenner, it doesn’t sound familiar at all. Please attempt to explain with facts. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Yes, Irv, - way too familiar for someone who grew up in a Nazi-occupied country during WWII, with Gestapo banging on the door in the middle of the night to question my Dad, who with a gun to his head had to lie to protect the whereabouts of a neighbor, selected for execution among a dozen others that were rounded up and shot to death Gestapo-style.
