How was the statement even slightly confusing? Did DJ endorse any Republicans, or even the more moderate Democrat challenger to Mark Berman? Sounds like you feel that one-party rule in our state is going great and we should just keep voting for more of the same.
Have you given any thought to the fact that maybe the DJ feels that the people they endorse are whom they feel are the best for the position regardless of party affiliation.
The DJ's regular op-ed writers are solidly situated on the left side of the aisle... the same side of the aisle where you will find California's supermajority party entrenched up in Sacramento.
Look at the paper's local columnists. Skip over Greg Wilson... he writes about what's going on in RWC and he is apolitical. John Horgan leans right and Sue Lempert leans left... they petty much cancel each other out. What's left? (pun intended) Annie Tsai and Craig Wiesner... and of course... Mark Simon himself. So, tarzantom's comment, "It is clear that the SMDJ favors one party rule," really doesn't need much explanation.
You know, it wasn't too long ago when readers sitting on the left side of the aisle suggested the DJ stop printing columns submitted by a local conservative writer. One-party rule? You betcha!
Obviously the SMDJ is happy with our State's crime, violence, homeless problems, inflation, over regulation etc. and they are not interested in hope or change. Consequently, the SMDJ has officially joined and endorsed the Jorgidian Cult's ideological movement which has no interest in being open minded, the truth, facts or change, which is disgraceful.
Yes, SMDJ favors one party rule. We have a wonderful alternative in District 15 (Mullin's longtime hold). Anna Kramer, https://www.ackramerforcongress.org/. Yes, VOTE for Kramer.
