The United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory has accused Hamas of committing acts of murder and torture. According to the Commission, Hamas has punished Palestinian Gazans who oppose their authority by breaking their bones with metal pipes or cement bricks. These actions reflect the brutal methods employed by Hamas against their own people.
Considering how Hamas currently treats its own citizens, questions arise about the future if the Iranian regime provides them with substantial financial support from oil revenue and sanctions relief. With increased resources, those Palestinians who have already suffered at the hands of Hamas for voicing criticism may face even harsher reprisals. The possibility of further empowerment of Hamas is deeply concerning for the well-being of their own population.
The potential consequences are not limited to Palestinians alone. If Iranian oil profits and sanctions relief fuel not only Hamas, but also groups like Hezbollah, the Houthis and other entities in the Iranian terror network, there may be widespread threats to Jews, Christians, Hindus and other communities around the world.
