Sometimes the best hiding place is in plain sight, and so it is with cheating and California elections. California law expressly forbids voter ID requirements. California’s voter registration website allows anyone to register to vote even without a Social Security number or a driver’s license which means they will get a ballot in the mail. Even if ID were required, it wouldn’t do much good without requiring proof of U.S. citizenship, since California issues driver’s licenses to anyone regardless of legal status, thus they will automatically receive a ballot courtesy of the state’s universal mail-in balloting system.
A Pacific Research Institute study shows California has the largest undocumented immigrant population of any state. The implications are obvious. California permits third-party ballot collectors, and it is not limited to family or household members. These “harvesters” are not supervised by an election official and, as such, there is no real protection from coercion or undue pressure to vote a certain way. Alarmingly, these ballots are not subject to chain of custody requirements.
We live where the technology revolution was born. All aspects of our lives have improved, except when it comes to elections. When it takes weeks longer to determine elections results than it did a generation ago, distrust is the result. California Democrats have built an election system just the way they want it, but just because something is legal does not mean it isn’t cheating.
