Ed Kahl, in his July 7 letter, calls the “Communist wing” of the Democratic Party ironic. I’m not sure that fits the definition of the word. Considering the full-throated embrace of fascism by Republicans, I would use the “proportionate” and even “appropriate” for such a move. Nature always seeks balance.
Mr. Karl doesn’t know that communism simply means state control of manufacturing and distribution. Simple as that, and not a movement that has any chance in the US!
You seem to have blockheaded out the meaning. The State owns everything, thus communism creates a society that does not reward hard work, thus shortages occur, like food, clean water etc... If Redwood City, the new Sharia Law democrats and the black robe Constitution haters have their, way the party who hates America will take control of everything. Your simple definition does cover the cause and effect and your ignore New York,
Not even Eisenhower understood what “Communism” was, when he wasted some 58000 American lives in Vietnam to prevent the movement from leaking into the US. Just another uneducated Republican, like the one currently in charge.
Thanks for your letter, Lou Covey, but I’m not sure your use of “fascism” being embraced by Republicans fits the definition of the word. Sometimes the truth hurts, as when Mr. Kahl speaks the truth about the Democrat Party.
