NEW YORK (AP) — The legacy of Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show continues. Streams of his catalog jumped 175% in the U.S. on Monday when compared to the previous Monday, Feb. 2. That’s according to industry data and analytics company Luminate. Bad Bunny received nearly 100 million streams on Monday in the U.S. compared to 36.2 million streams the previous Monday. That's 99.6 million. That’s noteworthy because Monday, Feb. 2 was the day after the 2026 Grammys when Bad Bunny won album of the year. It marked the first time an all-Spanish language album took home the top prize. As a result, he was already seeing a significant jump in streams
Michael Douglas announces 'raw' memoir for October release
NEW YORK (AP) — Oscar-winner Michael Douglas has announced a memoir set for release on Oct. 6. He describes it as a “raw, sweeping” account of his personal and professional life. Douglas, 81, aims to share his story on his own terms, focusing on his journey from his father Kirk Douglas' shadow to his own stardom. The book, written with Michael Fleming, will cover his experiences with cancer and substance abuse, as well as his enduring marriage to Catherine Zeta-Jones. Douglas is known for roles in “Fatal Attraction” and “Wall Street.” He is also a philanthropist and U.N. Messenger of Peace.

This event celebrates the nominees and serves as a group portrait session and an orientation for next month's ceremony. Attendees included Jessie Buckley, Timothée Chalamet, and Teyana Taylor. The luncheon is an egalitarian affair where big names mix with newcomers. Academy President Lynette Howell Taylor advised the nominees on acceptance speeches. She urged winners to be prepared and keep speeches to 45 seconds. The annual roll call summoned all the nominees to the stage for their class photo. It began with Delroy Lindo and ended with Taylor.

ROME (AP) — A new exhibition in Rome is celebrating one of the most important patron-artist relationships in European history. It's one that propelled a young prodigy named Gian Lorenzo Bernini into a towering figure of Baroque art and architecture.“Bernini and the Barberini,” which opens Thursday, explores the complex relationship between Bernini and Pope Urban VIII, who ruled from 1623-1644. Urban is credited with discovering Bernini and, with him, embarking on a project to make Rome the artistic center of Christian civilization. Urban is being celebrated in a host of Vatican initiatives this year, since he consecrated the new St. Peter’s Basilica in 1626. Urban also put the finishing touches on its interior, including with Bernini’s famous baldacchino canopy over the tomb of the saint.
Super Bowl averages 124.9M viewers in US, Bad Bunny's halftime 128.2 million, both short of records
Seattle's Super Bowl victory over New England on Sunday night didn't break viewership records. The game averaged 124.9 million viewers across NBC, Peacock, Telemundo, NBC Sports Digital, and NFL+, according to Nielsen. This is less than the 127.7 million who watched Philadelphia beat Kansas City last year. Bad Bunny's halftime show also fell short of records. It averaged 128.2 million viewers, making it the fourth-most watched halftime show. Kendrick Lamar, Michael Jackson, and Usher hold the top three spots. Global viewership numbers for the halftime show are expected next week.

It comes after a trove of more than 3 million pages of Epstein-related documents revealed their ties to the U.S. financier and convicted sex offender who died behind bars in 2019. Some experts note that the reckoning in Europe’s parliamentary democracies has been swifter and more severe for now than in the United States where Epstein built his empire and hobnobbed with many American elites.

Sopé Dìrísù plays father to two young boys in “My Father's Shadow,” which is opening in theaters Friday. The debut feature from filmmaker Akinola Davies Jr. is semi-autobiographical. He and his brother lost their father at a young age and set out to capture memory and grief in a day spent together. In her review for The Associated Press, film writer Lindsey Bahr writes that “My Father’s Shadow” is a gem, a deeply felt memory piece and vibrant portrait of Nigeria in 1993. “My Father's Shadow” is being released by Mubi. It has not been rated.
