Oh the weather outside is frightful, but sometimes there is no fire to be delightful.

Have you ever read the lyrics to “Let it Snow”? How different would it be if you were unhoused or your housing situation was precarious? I think about it every holiday season.

We seem to get folks writing in, or complaining about people not having homes, but these same writers and complainers don’t invite these homeless folks into their homes to set an example. Perhaps folks like Alex, or Rudy E, or DavidP can take the initiative and invite a few homeless folks into their or their like-minded friends’ homes and then report back on the experiment. At least until local and state authorities get their act together and reduce costs for building homes.

Our governor siigned 31 housing laws that will be effective January 1, 2022. I wonder how much that will help towards affordable housing and homelessness.

Alex, thank you for the reminder. So many folks will be out on the street, or worried about being out on the street, because we can’t get our act together.

If you’ve never emailed or called or made public comment to a council or the Board of Supervisors, your participation will be fresh and they will take notice. Please do it!
