Suppose Israel had followed a “Smart Break” policy rather than the “Clean Break” strategy? “Smart,” meaning following U.N. Security Council Resolution 242 passed some 59 years back. What have they gained by ignoring this legal command? They have 700,000 illegal settlers living on occupied land, that’s a good thing? Suppose instead they had worked toward repatriation of the original 700,000 refugees of the 1948 conflict instead? What now, had this “Smart” strategy been adopted?

Hilarious. Hey Mr. Caggiano, what if Hamas didn’t launch a surprise attack on Israel? We’d have what, 2000+ Israelis still alive and 50,000+ Hamas supporters still alive? As you say, “History will judge the foolish paths taken versus the smart ones avoided.” If you want to go further back, what if the parents of those who decided to attack Hamas decided to abort their babies?
