Editor,
Judicial elections in San Mateo County are rare, which makes this election an especially important opportunity for voters.
I am writing to express my strong support for Brian Donnellan for judge. Brian is a true local — raised in San Mateo County, educated here, and deeply invested in the community he has served for more than two decades.
As a prosecutor, he has built a reputation for fairness, integrity and sound judgment.
That reputation is reflected in the breadth of his support, including endorsements from most of the judges in our county, the overwhelming majority of deputy district attorneys, and many highly respected defense attorneys.
Brian’s commitment to public service extends beyond the courtroom. He is a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army and a Bronze Star recipient for his service in Iraq. That combination of legal experience, leadership and service under pressure is rare and meaningful for a judicial candidate.
He has also earned the confidence of community leaders across the political spectrum, including U.S. Rep. Kevin Mullin and assemblymembers Diane Papan and Marc Berman — further evidence of his credibility, character and dedication to public service.
This election presents voters with a genuine opportunity to choose a local candidate who knows our community, understands our justice system, and has devoted his career to serving both. Brian Donnellan would bring fairness, experience and integrity to the bench, and I am excited to cast my vote for him.

Thanks for your letter, Mr. Wendler. Methinks I’d look for another candidate to vote for because I don’t have confidence that Mullin and Papan and Berman are doing the job in making the lives of American citizens better. As such, I’d cast doubt on any candidates they have confidence in.
