Just a quick rebuttal to Ed Kahl’s opinion in his letter to the editor about how “the reasons for the war are misunderstood by many.” In it, he asserts — without any proof — that “Iran was getting closer to having nuclear weapons.”
But all one has to do is google “was Iran getting close to making nuclear weapons,” and the overwhelming *expert* opinions (including Scientific American, among many others) are that Iran was nowhere close to such capacity.
Yet the timing of declaring such war sure is convenient to distract from all the other problems this openly corrupt administration has caused.
So I guess Ed is right in a way — some people really do misunderstand the reasons for this war. But he’s right in a way I don’t think he intended.
Thanks for your letter, Mr. Nakamura, but I’d take the opinion of Mr. Kahl and anyone else not afflicted with TDS over your opinion. If you didn’t segue into “orange man bad” all the time, some may take you seriously. And what time frame is “nowhere close”? The next minute, the next day, the next year, the next decade, 47 years? I’d say Ed was right in the way he intended. BTW, I appreciate you casting doubt by highlighting “expert” in the opinions you cite. Those “expert” opinions are likely self-described or as is the case in many instances, imaginary “anonymous” sources.
