Editor,

Robert Mueller led a Marine platoon into combat in Vietnam, receiving a Bronze Star for heroism under fire, a Purple Heart and two commendations for valor under fire. As a lawyer he chose to serve for decades as a public servant rather than pursue what would have been a lucrative career in private practice.

Thanks for your letter, Ms. Quirk, but if anything, our (yes, our) great President Trump is working to normalize the idea that character is relevant, not irrelevant, and in that, Trump is very very right. Character doesn’t mean cherry-picking events from one’s past and applying it to their lifetime; character follows one throughout their life and is more important as one nears the end. And that is Mr. Mueller’s failing, especially with his Russian Collusion Delusion witch hunt. Akin to RBG and others afflicted with TDS destroying their credibility and character, trumping everything they did in the past. BTW, wasn’t Dennis Rader of BTK fame a Boy Scout leader and a church council president? We all know how well that turned out. If not, there are numerous documentaries for one’s viewing pleasure.
