I received predictably rude and misguided criticism of my letter of Nov. 19 (“Determined resistance”). I respond by clarifying and expanding on some of my points about Trump and Trump voters.

Democrats had their chance and now it's Republicans turn. Perhaps you should hold your fire until we see what Trump actually does.

Thank you, Mr. Wright, for reminding us that there are still some sane individuals who see the soon-to-be Occupant for the crooked, narcissistic, intellectually and morally bankrupt traitor that he is. The usual suspects on this thread will attack me, as they have you, for pointing out the lies, greed, and corruption of the upcoming administration - look at the "Cabinet" picks - and point to the price of eggs and the huge problem of transgender athletes robbing multitudes of women (perhaps 5?) of fair competition. Of course, those millions of women and girls without reproductive rights? No problem! The only bright spot here is that, if the Occupant manages to overturn birthright citizenship, his progeny will have to be deported, along with his latest wife and her chain migration parents. Perhaps his buddy Putin will take them in. The $2billion Saudi bribe could help grease the wheels there. We are in for the fight of our lives to preserve democracy. With a felon in the White house, what can go wrong?

Not necessarily directly insane, Dirk, but at least careless, stupid, and slow learners. Don’t they understand what Trump is up to, if given another chance, or don’t they care about what will happen to the country? It will be a way too costly experiment! Is it even possible to find anyone more incompetent? Just look at his appointments! Doesn’t that tell us something? My goodness, wake up, man!

Yes Jorg - now Benioff, Zuckerberg, Bezos and Musk are careless, stupid and slow learners. Last i looked they seem to be the captains of their respective industries. Imagine what they could do or could have done if they were not careless, stupid and slow learners. Perhaps you can send them a wake up notice.

The more than 77 million Americans who voted for Donald Trump are not careless, stupid or slow learners just because they disagree with your politics. Why would they support the candidate you favor? When asked what could be done differently to correct the disasters of the Joe Biden presidency, your candidate said that nothing comes to mind.

Are there some slow learners in the American electorate? Yes... those would be your comrades on the far left who are glorifying a shooter accused of gunning down and killing a health care industry CEO to protest health care business practices... and at the same time... those slow learners are vilifying a Marine veteran who acted to save subway riders from imminent harm. Oh, yes... those slow learners have been quick to toss identity politics into the mix.

You wrote to Dirk, "My goodness, wake up, man!" You might want to heed your own advice.

Beg pardon. You are not being carelessly tossed to the left. After the innumerable times you have sung the praises of the far left spoxes on MSNBC, you have clearly and willingly joined arms with them.

If that is not true, could you give us your take on the person who shot and killed a health care CEO in NY, and the person acquitted of criminality due to acting in self-defense on a NY subway?

And re those incidents you mentioned, - I have no opinion and don't know enough about it. Why do you expect me to have an opinion about everything you drag up?

If the last election was not teaching you anything, you are looking at another 8 to 12 years of having to deal with challenged minds who may not be as intellectually inclined as you are but they will run a better country. Thank you for the facts Terence! SMPool comes up with the insane number of 5, when the issue of men/boys invading female sports and spaces affects every woman and girl. And the number is more than 5 girls affected just at a single high school (of which there are several in our area) where a boy plays a girls' sport- girls are cut from teams, denied playing time, lose out on awards, lose their privacy in locker rooms and fear for their safety. If so many women and children weren't hurt by the radical trans ideology, I'd be fine with Dems not understanding the extent of the problem so they keep losing elections.

You seem to forget that Biden adopted many of Trump’s tariffs and yet, under Trump, inflation didn’t increase. You seem to forget crossing the border illegally is a crime. You seem to forget that if Trump only cared about himself and power and was un-American, how come Trump Made America Great Again? You seem to forget that Obama is known as the Divider-in-Chief. Actually, it seems like you’re forgetting a lot. But that’s to be expected, since you completely forgot about treasonous Biden and his America Last policies. BTW, if you don’t like it here in America why are you still here? It’s because Trump is likely the greatest President in your lifetime – twice.

They’re much less intelligent and much less educated than Trump, perhaps newborns. Sounds more like Brian and Jorg are filled with envy. BTW, Jorg, why do you need to meet me in person? Like our (yes, our) President Trump and our friend Not So Common, I’m already living rent-free in your head. Trump wouldn’t even pass the final English exam I had to go through at the end of elementary school “over there”. Not a chance in the world he could make it! BTW, does is matter to you that Biden received $$$$ Millions from China, Ukraine and others? Does it matter that In 2010, Biden provided a eulogy for KKK "exalted cyclops," Democratic West Virginia Senator Robert C. Byrd, who in the 1940s helped recruit new members to his chapter of the KKK?
