After running the table in the West Bay Athletic League Foothill Division, the Sacred Heart Prep Gators are returning to the Central Coast Section Open Division volleyball tournament.
The Gators (22-6) enjoyed a banner season in the expanded WBAL Foothill, finishing off their 12-0 record with a 25-22, 25-9, 25-16 sweep of Mercy-Burlingame at Serra in Tuesday’s regular-season finale. With more teams than ever in the Foothill Division, the 12 league wins marks a program record for SHP. It is the second time in the past four years head coach Ali Magner’s team has gone undefeated in league, last doing so with a 10-0 record in 2022.
SHP now advances to the CCS Open Division tournament for the fourth time in the last five years. The Gators earned the No. 5 seed in the eight-team tourney, and will open Saturday at No. 4 Valley Christian-San Jose (17-7) at 1 p.m.
Last season, the Gators were assigned to the CCS Division IV tournament, where they won their 14th all-time section crown, and their first since 2012.
Mitty (27-3) earned the No. 1 seed in the CCS Open after running the table to win the West Catholic Athletic League crown. The Monarchs have won 25 CCS titles all-time, including four in the Open Division.
Division I
Three Peninsula Athletic League squads qualified for the CCS Division I tournament. PAL Bay Division champion Menlo-Atherton (22-9) earned the No. 1 seed, and a first-round bye in the tourney. The Bears will open postseason play Tuesday at home against the winner of No. 8 Hollister and No. 8 Mountain View.
No. 5 Carlmont (16-11) opens play Saturday hosting No. 12 Branham-San Jose (16-15) at 1 p.m. No. 7 Sequoia (20-14) hosts No. 10 Alisal-Salinas (19-10) at 7 p.m.
Division II
After settling for third place in the PAL Bay Division this season, Aragon (23-7) earned the No. 1 seed in the CCS Division II tournament. The Lady Dons have a first-round bye, and will open play Tuesday at home at 7 p.m. against the winner of No. 8 Gunn-Palo Alto and No. 9 Westmont-Campbell.
No. 3 Burlingame (18-13) earned a first-round bye, and will face the winner of Saturday’s matchup between No. 6 Rancho San Juan-Salinas and No. 11 Sobrato-Morgan Hill in the quarterfinal, as the Panthers host their first playoff game in their new gymnasium at 7 p.m.

No. 12 San Mateo (11-11) made the postseason cut after finishing in a three-way tie for second place in the PAL Ocean Division with Mills and El Camino. The Bearcats travel to No. 5 Santa Clara (16-8) for Saturday’s playoff opener at 1 p.m.
Division III
Capuchino (23-4) goes from winning the PAL Ocean Division championship to earning the No. 3 seed in CCS Division III. The Lady Mustangs have a first-round bye, and will open Tuesday at 7 p.m. against the winner of No. 6 Soquel and No. 11 North Monterey.
No. 12 Mills (16-16) opens postseason play Saturday, traveling to No. 5 Santa Cruz (19-10) for a 7 p.m. start.
Division IV
No. 4 Notre Dame-Belmont (20-10) and No. 6 Menlo School (12-17) each have first-round byes. NDB opens postseason play Tuesday at home against No. 5 Harker-San Jose (13-11) at 7 p.m. Menlo opens Tuesday at No. 3 Pacific Grove (25-6) at 7 p.m.
No. 8 Half Moon Bay (13-16) opens play Saturday hosting No. 9 King’s Academy-Sunnyvale (18-8) at 7 p.m.
Division V
No. 1 Summit Shasta (23-8) earned a first-round bye, and has a chance to face its Private School Athletic League rival in the quarterfinals of the Division V tournament. No. 9 Nueva School (10-8) travels to No. 8 Notre Dame-San Jose (21-5) for Saturday’s opener at 1 p.m., the winner of which faces travels to face Summit Shasta.
No. 6 Crystal (7-13) opens Tuesday at No. 3 St. Francis-Watsonville (19-7) at 7 p.m.
