Redwood City broke out the bats in the first inning, scoring seven runs in their first at-bat to roll to an elimination win over Belmont-Redwood Shores at Middlefield Ballpark. BRS jumped ahead with two runs in the top of the first, but RWC tied it in the bottom of the frame on a two-run double from Aidan Hogan, and jumped ahead on a two-out RBI single from Colin Krefetz, then kept adding on.
RWC racked up 12 hits in the game, paced by Hogan’s 3-for-3, four-RBI performance. Hogan also earned the win on the mound, going 4 1/3 innings before Jackson Williams came out of the bullpen to close it out with 1 2/3 innings of work. Krefetz and Callen Fong added two hits and an RBI each, and Cayden Fagnini had a double with two RBIs.
BRS was paced by two hits apiece from Yuma Takeuchi, Caleb Mooney and Andrew Vendola, while starter Grant Grites, and relievers Michael Ateya and Mooney handled the pitching duties.
RWC advances through the elimination bracket, and will face Hillsborough, Wednesday, at 6:30 p.m.

Hillsborough 11, Half Moon Bay 6
Hillsborough totaled just six hits, but capitalized on 12 walks and three hit batters to score early and often in an elimination game against Half Moon Bay at Middlefield Ballpark in Palo Alto. Hillsborough scored four in the first, four more in the third to lead wire to wire.
Will Cantwell went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs to pace Hillsborough, while Will Duffell added a double and two RBIs. Duffell earned the win on the hill, allowing one run on three hits through four innings of work. The right-hander walked two and struck out seven, while throwing 62 pitches, 43 for strikes. Colton Kung and Cantwell worked the final two innings of relief.
Luke Gordon led HMB at the plate, going 2 for 3 with two RBIs, while Wyatt Reimche added a single and an RBI.
Hillsborough advances through the elimination bracket, and will face Redwood City, Wednesday, at 6:30 p.m.
