El Camino senior Markson Jacques scored 22 points and led a fourth-quarter flurry as the Colts (4-2 PAL Ocean, 9-8 overall) rallied for a 61-53 win Friday night at archrival South City.
The Warriors (2-4, 6-11) led 38-37 after a back-and-forth third quarter, after junior Marcus Zhu fed senior Jayden Lucero for a layup late in the period. But El Camino responded with a 24-15 run in the fourth, tying it 41-all when Jacques scored a transition layup with 5:22 to play. The Colts then took the lead with three free throws, before junior Eli Ledesma crushed a 3 from the top of the key to make it 53-43 midway through the fourth.
Ledesma finished with 14 points, while senior Brandon Jue added 12. Senior guard Luke Burton led South City with 11 points, with Lucero and Zhu scoring 10 apiece.
The win marks El Camino’s sixth straight in head-to-head play with its rival dating back to 2022-23.
