The San Mateo Police Activities League and StarVista are teaming up to host a Mental Health Matters 5K Run/Walk and Wellness Fair Sunday, May 18 at Seal Point/Ryder Park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Also teaming up is Stride for Awareness to combine efforts and bring the community a bigger and better event to spread awareness about the importance of mental wellness, especially amongst youth. The run/walk will also feature an array of activities for all ages:
• Race your friends and family to the finish line on our USATF Certified 5K race route.
• Bond with service dogs through Urban Paws South San Francisco and with our very own Goldendoodle, Rookie, San Mateo PAL’s very first Therapy K9.
• Hear from the San Mateo police chief, mayor, StarVista CEO, and board members.
• Food trucks, snacks, wellness crafts like scrapbooking, rock painting, color by numbers and more.
Registration includes a race T-shirt, finisher medal, awards for top finishers, snacks, music, water, access to our wellness fair that includes yoga, self-care activities, wellness vendors and more. Dogs are welcome. Registration opens 8 a.m. at Seal Point Park, the 5K starts at 9 a.m. Awards are at 11 a.m. and the wellness fair at Ryder Park runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
