Sacred Heart Prep 5, Capuchino 1
The game was scoreless until the top of the fifth when the Mustangs (0-3 PAL Bay, 5-7 overall) knocked in their lone run of the game.
The Gators (3-2, 7-5-1) responded with four runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning.
That was all the run support that Sacred Heart Prep senior Parker Isaacson needed to secure his second win of the season. He pitched a complete game and gave up one run on five hits and five strikeouts. Isaacson got it done at the plate as well and had two of his team’s three hits, including a double and an RBI.
Boys’ Tennis
Hillsdale 6, Burlingame 1
The Panther’s lone win came in No. 3 doubles when William Duncan and Alejandro Cruz defeated their opponents 6-3, 6-4.
Hillsdale’s Marcus Chang and Chaninder Rishi cruised to 6-0, 6-2 victories in No. 1 and 3 singles.
The most competitive match came from No. 4 singles. Haoyang Zeng won 6-0, 4-6, 10-8 in a close battle.
Pinewood 4, Sacred Heart Prep 3
The Panthers came out and dominated three out of the four singles matchups. In No. 4 singles, Sacred Heart Prep’s Ned Stone pulled off the 6-3, 3-6, (7) victory to avoid the singles sweep.
The Gators and Panthers battled tough and the outcome ultimately came down to the wire. Panther’s Thomas Ahrens and Justin Stangenes got the 3-6, 6-3, (7) win in No. 2 doubles to help secure a Pinewood victory.
Boys’ Lacrosse
Sacred Heart Prep 15, St. Francis 1
The Gators (4-0 WCAL, 7-0 overall) scored early and often by securing 10 of their 15 goals in the first half. Sacred Heart Prep’s 10-1 halftime lead pretty much put this one out reach.
The Gator’s Tommy Barnds had a great game, scoringsix goals and adding two assists. Patrick Hagerty also put together a nice stat line with three goals and one assist.
TUESDAY
Baseball
Aragon 14, Sequoia 1
Leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, the Dons exploded for 13 runs to bury the Cherokees in a PAL Ocean Division game.
Aragon (2-1 PAL Ocean, 6-3 overall) scored 14 runs on just seven hits, but took advantage of three Sequoia errors and six walks in the fourth inning.
Jace Jeremiah paced the offense for the Dons, driving in three runs and scoring twice. Camron Grant added two RBIs for Aragon.

That outburst allowed Aragon starting pitcher Conor Hourigan to cruise to a complete-game, two-hitter.
Sequoia (0-2, 3-7) got its only run in the bottom of the seventh on a Fabian Nolasco home run.
Boys’ golf
Menlo School 197, Sacred Heart Prep 214
The Knights shot their third straight sub-200 score as they stayed undefeated in WBAL with the win over the rival Gators at Los Altos Country Club.
Seth Pope and Charlie Hsieh shared low-round honors for Menlo (6-0 WBAL) as both fired 2-over 37s. Jeremy Yun finished with a 40, Seiji Yang a 42 and Kripa Dharan a 42 for the Knights.
SHP (2-3) was led by Finn O’Kelly’s 4-over 39. Matt Flynn shot a 42 for the Gators, followed by 44s from Rayan Rizvi and Thomas Molumphy. Beck O’Kelly carded a 45.
Boys’ Tennis
Menlo 7, Crystal Springs 0
The Gryphons failed to win more than two games in all seven matches.
In No. 1 singles, Menlo’s Brandon Aprill was impressive in his 6-1, 6-0 victory.
Menlo-Atherton 7, Carlmont 0
Although the undefeated Bears (6-0) swept the Scots, Carlmont (4-3) remained competitive in nearly every match and refused to go down without a fight.
In No. 2 singles, Menlo Atherton’s Jake Andrew played well and won 6-3, 6-2. The match of the day was in No. 2 doubles where the Bears’ Ammar Sefdari and Josh Wiseman grinded out a tough 6-3, 4-6, (10-5) victory.
Boys’ Volleyball
San Mateo 3, Sequoia 0
the Bearcats didn’t have much trouble with the Cherokees, winning in a sweep 25-10, 25-18, 25-20.
San Mateo (8-1 PAL, 10-5 overall) was led by Jayce Gispan and Landon Finn. Gispan finished the game with five aces, 14 digs and one block. Finn had nine kills and one block.
Girls’ Lacrosse
Sacred Heart Prep 10, Menlo 5
The game was highly competitive early on as both teams were trading goals, with the Gators leading 5-4 going into halftime.
In the second half, the Sacred Heart Prep defense kicked it into another gear and only allowed one goal.
Sacred Heart Prep freshman Ellie Noto played well and scored four times. Her teammate, senior Ingrid Corrigan, also put together a nice game and had three goals.
