Putting a highly unqualified individual in charge of contracts for an $850 billion, easily abused defense budget, a potential $600 billion Saudi investment in the United States, and talk of investing Treasury/gold reserves in cryptocurrency to reduce the national debt.
For good measure, eliminate a swath of inspectors general that provide oversight. I wonder what well-known family best stands to benefit from these activities? Let the looting begin.

OK Cory - "inspectors general that provide oversight"? Where were or where are they? Just the preliminary review of USAID has uncovered billions of dollars that slipped into the pockets of legislator cronies. The recent judgment against resigned senator Menendez is an example how USAID and other federal funding is sluiced back into the bank accounts of his ilk. Gold bars and fancy cars are just the beginning. Oversight? Give me a break!
Let's introduce you to what Inspector Generals do. Example: BART Inspector General Harriet Richardson.
Senator Glazer: "Ms. Richardson carried out her work even when the BART Board and management were determined to undermine her investigations. They repeatedly refused to provide her office with the full power and authority that she requested to do her job. The Alameda County Grand Jury found that BART obstructed the independent watchdog. “From the beginning,” the grand jury report found, BART’s management, Board of Directors and labor unions “sought to undermine Inspector General Harriet Richardson’s role by limiting access to information and employees.”
So this BART Inspector General was put in place by Gavin Newsom, but in the end when she found many issues, there was little to no support for her by Sacramento. Because essentially they do like the corruption as well - otherwise they would have stopped the BART board. So the problem doesn't seem to be the Inspector Generals.
The real problem is they have little power to follow through and the Executive Power in the White House does love corruption even more so than Sacramento.
And that is why Inspector Generals are fired by this White House.
Hey easygerd - you mean to tell me that Trump after a few days in office determined that he had to shield the swamp from the pesky IGs? Do you truly believe that Trump carted fraud with him on January 20 or did he encounter the corruption that Biden and his long list of cronies left? I believe you have it in reverse. IGs do not have a lot of authority perhaps but they can write and submit reports about abuse and fraud. Where are those documents? If there were, why did they obstruct Musk from finding them? Why did Musk's team find a plethora of abuse just at the USAID? Where were the whistle blowers in that department? And BTW, Newsom is the poster boy for the swamp and wholeheartedly supported Biden and Harris.
Exactly. If you say that Trump had to shield his swamp from those pesky Inspector Generals. Let's go with that. This time around the voters had the choice between San Francisco corruption and New York corruption - and this time they choose New York/Florida.
As long as California Democrats can't prove they can get stuff done they can't be taken seriously. Newsom has no chance of becoming president with nothing to show for except "virtue signaling".
USAID was the agency helped preventing Ebola outbreaks and other pandemics. And just like the last pandemic outbreak, the next one goes to this Commander in Chief. The buck stops with the president.
Speaking of looting, Cory, I believe somebody looted the rest of the words in your attempt at a first sentence. As for benefits, well-known and not well-known families, basically all of us stand to benefit from the activities you’ve listed. Of course I’m not completely sure where you were heading with your incomplete first sentence but based on past history, I’m assuming we’re getting more of your usual unhinged and misplaced hysterical screeching at our (yes, our) great President Trump. As for looting which is hurting us, please pay attention to the waste already uncovered in USAID. Next up, Medicare and Medicaid and the IRS and every federal program. Make America Great Again.
