Eight deck boats and a crowd of about 50 Republicans rallied in San Mateo County on Thursday at the same hour Kamala Harris accepted the presidential nomination at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

The Republican Party chapter organized a flotilla event and picnic in the Foster City Lagoon. Tickets were $125.

Ah, nothing says "cutting-edge political movement" like a boat parade with 50 people in a county where Republicans are as rare as unicorns. It's always refreshing to see folks rallying around the big issues of our time—like the terrifying specter of Arnold Schwarzenegger's lingering RINO aura. And while waving flags and donning Trump capes in a lagoon might not turn the tide, at least they're keeping the boat rental industry afloat. If only they could paddle their way out of the 14% minority.

Not So Common

Did ya notice RFK endorsed Trump and not the communists party? Many sheople’s brainwashing drugs are wearing off and the tide is turning. You can make fun of people, but please be sure to cry in your own soup when true, honest Americans vote Trump. Cackling Kamala and her TDS followers Rel, Jorg, Mike, Taffy are goose poop

Great observations, Not So Common. I’d add that it is amazing 50 people got together in the Bay Area and didn’t block folks from going to class, didn’t block freeways or on-ramps, didn’t erect tent cities, didn’t burn American flags, and didn’t harass people. They can’t be BLM, rabid Democrats, or Hamas terrorist supporters. They must be Republican and Trump supporters. BTW, it appears you can add Unassigned to your list of the TDS-infected. Apparently, he also hates Trump more than he loves America while willfully ignoring treasonous Biden/Harris America Last policies vs. Trump/Vance America First policies. Additional symptoms of TDS.

Not So Common

Terrence, Unassigned has been added. TDS is nearly incurable, it's fueled by one's internal hate and inability to reason and learn. Thus people like "unassigned" Rel, Taffy, Mike, & Jorg have blood systems that have been completely infected by TDS. The leader of the TDS movement is Jorg, he orchestrates things by regurgitating the same LTE every month. His followers, aptly named Jorgidians, are steadfast devotees who cannot be broken. In the final stages of TDS, the devotees don't know what they are saying, they are unable reply to common sense responses and begin cackling and forming word salads that are completely incoherent.

The crowd was UUGE! Many scholars and political experts says they have never seen anything like it. Luckily none of the electric boats sunk and electrocuted anyone. An MIT professor said he has never heard such a profound statement before. I have a very large brain and the best words.

Unassigned

It only matters that none of the votes of these boaters will ever be counted in this upcoming election. Of course for California, Harris has already won, so they can float around that lagoon all they want, and it won't make a bit of difference. No fan of Harris, I could not fathom another four years of Trump, with all the lying, criminal behavior and dictatorial behavior - he simply cannot be allowed anywhere near the White House again. All the repeating of a few simple thoughts these people read off bumper stickers, all of which are untrue, lead by a serial criminal, immoral idiot, hopefully will not carry the parts of the country where there still is an unknown result.

Thank you SMDailyJournal for a fair article! The flotilla resulted in a large amount of thumbs up and offers of getting involved. Clarification for readers: the San Mateo GOP endorsed trans woman Erin Smith in 2020 for then District 11. The Log Cabin Republicans many of whom are married endorsed DJT. The rallies are going to have people with differing viewpoints just like you saw inside and outside of the DNC convention. I encourage residents to review Michael Shellenberger’s WPATH files and Norway,Sweden,UK, Finland updated policies on puberty blockers/surgeries on minors to understand the Republican and many Democrat voters’s position on children. Also, It is my understanding the SMGOP does not receive money from the RNC or CAGOP and fundraises just like everyone else. Events are so fun and a good investment.

Great article! Reminds me of a lot of the Channel 5 YouTube content where they get out there and talk to real people about the issues they care about. I still feel like it's really a uniparty and the presidential race more like a WWE contest than meaningful for policy change but we gotta get back to the truth of what people need from government. I'd like to see lobbying disappear and decisions at every level be made by secret ballot. California state income tax is too high for the value we're receiving. Policies that keep energy prices high in this state need to go. The state also needs to protect itself from the coming age of hyperinflation.

Fifty (50) "Republicans" floating and fuming in Foster City...how quaint. Hope they heeded their dear leader's warning and outfitted their rafts with enough batteries to electrify the surrounding water and fend off those nasty sharks without capsizing!
