While Half Moon Bay officials were proud to see a Black Lives Matter mural painted on the side of City Hall in 2020, some questions have arisen if the black-and-yellow imagery of the racial equity group is still appropriate for the city.

It is, at least according to a great majority of residents and councilmembers who, at a meeting Dec. 5, discussed what was originally a temporary display.

Suggestion: Hire an artist that can paint a group of people to include black, white, latin, asian, jewish etc that depicts the diversity (or desired) diversity of HMB. Art is more beautiful than words. Understand most HMB residents are not Marxist, antisemitic, anti prison.

Not So Common

Nice to know Half Moon Bay supports the "self-proclaimed" Marxist organization BLM who supports looting, crime and destruction of others personal property because the US government 'steals' and 'pillages from different countries, says BLM leader Hawk Newsome. Maybe it's to put HMB on the same no go list as Disney, Macy's, Target etc..

Well said, Not So Common. Apparently 10% of HMB folks have left since 2020. A direct correlation between the virtue signaling and folks exiting? It’s nice to know that folks from every other representation are completely ignored. Meanwhile, if anyone plans on staying at the Ritz-Carlton in HMB they may want to bring their own water, if news reports are to be believed.
