The No.5-seed Burlingame Panthers (17-8) shot 14 of 28 from long range as they rudely greeted visiting No. 12 Soledad (18-8) with an 83-19 blowout win in Saturday’s Central Coast Section Division II boys’ basketball playoff opener. It marks the largest margin for a playoff win in Burlingame program history.
Senior sharpshooter Jean-Luc Uharriet was a perfect 5 of 5 from beyond the arc to total 15 points, sophomore big Lucca Maher added three 3s to score a game-high 19 points, and 12 different Panthers got in the scoring column. Burlingame out-rebounded Soledad 38-14, led by junior David Parrot’s season-high 11 boards. Junior guard Pedro Morales Jr. led the Aztecs with 10 points.
Burlingame now hits the road to take on No. 4 Westmont-Campbell in Tuesday’s quarterfinal round. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.
