I am responding to Joe Guttenbeil’s Biden challenge. I am voting for President Biden because I know several families who were able to stay in their apartments due to the American Rescue Plan Act. And now, they continue to pay rent because they and some of their children have jobs as a result of Bidenomics.
I am especially pleased that my son was able to change careers and find a new, interesting, job as a Computer Numeric Control Machinist. I attribute this to his resiliency and persistence but also to the rapid pace of job growth because of the Biden Administration’s economic policies. Non-farm payrolls grew by an average of 399,000 jobs per month in 2022. The unemployment rate was 3.4% in April, 2023.
Yes, I am paying more for groceries but I have a steady income from Social Security and Medicare covers all of my medical expenses. When my son returned to school and started looking for a job, he received health insurance as a result of the Affordable Care Act. I believe that these programs will continue to be funded only during another Biden administration and Democratic administrations in the future.
Kaye, I work in the trenches at Jobtrain whereby we teach clients the skills to enter the healthcare, culinary, construction, and IT fields. There has never been a better time to get jobs thanks to Bidenomics. Nearly all of our students are extended a job offer directly after graduation because the demand is there. Historically, this should come as no surprise as the economy is generally better under Democratic administrations than Republican.
Yes, of course Rel, the positive results of Bidenomics are obvious to most of us, i.e., the informed ones! But to get so-called Republicans with too tight MAGA hats to understand that, or even be honest enough to admit it, seems to be as impossible as making Trump to be truthful.
Yes Jorg - we should be delighted to hear that 30% of the population are the informed ones. There may be some leftist in the other 70% who are by extension uninformed.
Rel - it must feel enlightening to preach to the choir " the economy is generally better under Democratic administrations than Republican." Says who, you? You must feel comfortable belonging to the 30% of our population that agrees with you, the other 70% does not matter, does it? I am happy for those who get a job, probably at minimum wages while the high tech workers and high earners have been eliminated or have left for greener pastures. I can tell why you love Bidenomics, you are feeding from that same tax payer-supported trough.
Rel - without pontification, please please pick up a copy of today's Daily Journal. Even our flaky Governor is conceding that things are not going as hoped. There is a lot of detail on the state of our economy which is veering toward a significant budget deficit. If you keep on insisting that our economy is flourishing, you likely have a bridge for sale. Don't take my word for it, read the article!
When I read that, Dirk, I thought to myself that this would really get the MAGA-hatters excited: Something to complain about, to offset all the uncomfortable good news about job creation, and reduced unemployment and inflation rates! I guess I was right?
Dirk, are you always this intellectually lazy? Do a simple search for comparisons between Democratic and Republican parties and see the results for yourself. The replies show overwhelmingly the economy does better under Democrats. But, to help you out, here is one: https://www.jec.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/democrats/2016/6/the-economy-under-democratic-vs-republican-presidents
FYI: the ones we educate at Jobtrain usually start out at double the minimum wage which is one of the underlying reasons we do what we do. And, our training is done through private funding, not through taxes. You are welcome.
As to CA, most states would love to have our problems. CA has gone to an economic level which, if judged alone, would be the 5th highest economy in the world, all under the stewardship of Democratic leadership. But, don't take my word for it, do a little research on your own.
Rel - what has happened in the past is now irrelevant. Look at today's situation as even highlighted by Newsom. A typical family now spends almost a $1,000 more per month than before. Who gives a hoot about the economic standards in 1870. Let's face the music today and it is not rosy. And, please provide the name of even one state that envies us. The 52nd state, that does not exist?
Well, Kaye, I’m glad Bidenomics is working out well for you. Perhaps you should ask the 60 to 70% of folks who don’t approve of Biden’s America Last policies and his handling of the economy. BTW, Biden and his cronies have been told to stop using the term Bidenomics because of the negative connotation and disastrous results Bidenomics has perpetrated on the American people. Perhaps you didn't get the message.
Meanwhile, are you really impressed with Biden’s handling of COVID – letting people continue to die? Biden taking two knees and bowing to his Taliban overlords while gifting them $80 billion in money and weapons. Biden signing an infrastructure bill that spends maybe 5% or real infrastructure. Rising crime rates, higher inflation, rising invasion from the south, rising funds to Ukraine for an unwinnable war, rising number of shaking hands with invisible people…
The heartless on the wrong side don’t care about President Biden’s policies and actions helping others! All they are focused on is trying their hardest to find faults and put him down in the frantic hope of making their criminal, incompetent, trump’d up liar of a cult leader look better!
