What are the House Republican solutions for the U.S. southern border?

Republican solutions to your questions are:

1. Secure the boarder like all other countries do.

2 Reduce inflation by reducing government spending and becoming energy independent as we were before Democrats were elected.

3. End “catch and release” of people who repeatedly commit crimes by enforce existing laws.

4. Enforce practical and achievable pollution laws.

5. Assistance to charter schools to provide an alternative for parent who want a good education for their children and as a competitive alternative to public school teacher's union monopoly.

6. Reduce other bloated government spending to help people afford drugs. Drug company earning are not excessive compared to other S&P companies and are necessary to fund new drug research.

7. Fentanyl mostly comes into our country over the Mexican boarder and only securing our border will reduce it significantly.

8. The only feasible response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is helping Ukraine defend it’s country and to ensure Russia doesn’t use Ukraine as an opener to taking over other Eastern European countries.

Too true. But you neglected to include that the terrorist wing of the Republican party is also extremely interested in destroying our economy by refusing to raise the debt limit to pay for obligations already incurred by the US government.

Hello Westy, on another thread, I answered your questions. Why aren’t you returning the favor? When are you going to explain how starving horses in Saudi Arabia by depriving them of alfalfa will solve CA’s water problem? What are you doing to save the world from carbon emissions? Or shall I assume it’s just talk, with no substance, like the folks emitting loads of carbon to attend the COP conference? BTW, we wouldn’t have a debt limit problem if Dems stopped wasting our money on America Last programs.

Westy - as usual you have it backwards. The Dems incurred huge debts with their infrastructure bill which is destroying our economy. Most of that money is not even earmarked for infrastructure but to pay off Biden cronies. And now you call that destroying the economy? I always thought you were smarter than that. I was wrong.

Dr. Arum - this is like a person who just set a house on fire asking the fire department "what are you going to do about it"? All of the problems that you so well articulated were caused by Biden's and the Demo Party's mismanagement. Yes, there is a lot of cleaning up to do but the nation is finally in better hands again.

Thanks, Mr. van Ulden, for a great analogy. I’d add that if House Republicans didn’t pass any new Democrat-proposed legislation, and in fact, worked to repeal much, if not all, previous Democrat legislation, they would do more for Americans than the America Last policies from Biden and complicit Democrats. Assuming Dr. Arum is in the medical field, perhaps he could work on finding a cure for IBS. No, not that IBS, I’m referring to the Ignore Biden Syndrome afflicting folks afraid to live in the present.

My goodness, how totally detached from reality is it possible to be, even for a die-hard Republican?

At times I find myself wondering if some of the most R-infested among us are too mal-informed to understand even the most obvious, like what a disaster Trump was for the country, or if they are too dishonest to admit what should be abundantly obvious to everyone, that the current R- House is filled with incompetent, self-glorified ding-a-lings?

I wonder the same thing. Are Dirk and TY dishonest or delusional? I lean towards dishonest, because as Rel points out below, they refuse to respond with anything other than off-topic responses, digressions, deflection, and what-aboutism. Pretty much the definition of trolls.

Dirk, you are correct that the nation is in better hands again. Biden has done more in two years, with no help from the Republicans, than most presidents in four years. If however, you are referring to the House, then you must be delusional as the Republicans could not even agree on a leader which normally is rubber stamped on the first day. If the Republicans can not do the easy items, what makes you think they will do the hard things? Finally, it is noticed you offered no answers to the questions, but played the blame game of which Republicans do well.

Border, inflation, crime, national debt, a disjointed administration headed up by an individual who throws classified papers around as if it is old news. Don't forget, Biden also called his son Hunter the smartest man that he knows. Doesn't that tell you what his benchmark is? Thanks again for your off-the-wall comments that make a sorry attempt at forgiving Biden and the gang. MSNBC must be proud of you.

Can we really blame them? If these folks didn’t have their fake news and lies jibber-jabber, what would they bring to any conversation? Fortunately, we can easily debunk their fake news and lies. At least Rel tries to escape from willful ignorance, although he’s unable to support his so-called Biden accomplishments.

Rel, you’re hilarious. All you need to do is read my first response under Dirk’s comment to find your answer. What part of “repeal much, if not all, previous Democrat legislation” do you have trouble understanding? Essentially, return to our great President Trump’s America First policies to clean up Biden’s and complicit Dems’ America Last policies. That answer addresses the first seven of Dr. Arum’s questions. Question 8 regarding Ukraine… Answer, get out of Ukraine – it’s not our fight. Ukraine made their bed, they can lie on it. Question 9 regarding House Republicans… Answer, yes. You’re welcome.

Now instead of dancing like you’re all still in the disco area, perhaps you, Jorg, and Westy can answer a few questions and begin fruitful dialogues. Westy is afraid to answer questions regarding CA’s water issue and her actions to save the planet. Jorg is afraid to answer any question regarding Biden, the man who shakes hands with invisible people. And Rel, have you ever looked up our great President Trump’s tweets on January 6 that debunks those fooled by the so-called insurrection? Don’t worry if none of you can provide answers. I realize it’s impossible to support debunked conspiracy theories. Looking foolish by resorting to dancing, submitting jibber-jabber, or launching personal attacks is all you have left. How typical Republican to be so detached from facts, logic and common sense. If you claim that you find Biden’s voluntary disclosure of his inadvertent possession of a few classified documents verse than Trump’s deliberate theft of hundreds of even top-secret documents, his careless storage, and repeated refusal to give them up, - I just have to accept that’s how your mind works.

And that “Border, inflation, crime, national debt” all of a sudden turned worse because of President Biden, as soon as Trump was kicked out, shows the depth of your insight. Just to take the national debt you so triumphantly dragged up: Trump “owns” 25% of the entire 230-year-old debt, and that’s after only having “served” a single term, - fortunately. Something else he can brag about! And President Obama’s part after his full 8 years in office? I’ll let you figure that one out.

Rel -unlike the Dems, the Republicans are not rubber stampers. It was and is not easy to get divergent opinions and issues under the same umbrella. The Dems were herded/enjoined by Pelosi and likely caved in and that is not the ideal of a democracy. The questions that the doctor asked revealed his total ignorance of what has been going on for the past two years. If Jon (the Editor) will allow me, I will answer all of them in the hope that I don't get irrational responses from you know who. I always appreciate your thoughtfulness even though we generally disagree.
