Even among the many sobering stories of cruelty and injustice arising from the Trump administration’s obsessive anti-immigration crusade, the story of Mohammad Ali Dadfar stands out.

An Afghanistan native who risked his life to aid America in its war there, Dadfar was living and working legally in the U.S., raising his family and patiently navigating the complex process of earning asylum here, when immigration officials in October arrested him without explanation. He then spent almost two months in a Missouri jail cell awaiting possible deportation back into the clutches of a Taliban that wants him dead.

For Pete's sake, we were there to save him and his countrymen. Now we have to give him a pass because he helped us? If he and his cohorts had fought for his country against the Taliban, he would not have wasted our blood and guts. No, you dumb reporter, we left thousands of dead soldiers there and billions of sluiced money in that hell hole. They owe us, not the other way around. Out he goes!

Hilarious. Here we go again with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch attempting to justify putting the welfare of criminals and terrorists over the American people. By cherry picking one example and expecting us to apply it to everyone else in their selected cohort - a familiar and ineffective tactic to convince folks to accept a viewpoint as valid. Hey Post-Dispatch, I’ll spot you one example and I’ll raise you tens of millions of others who’ve illegally crossed our border. Please persuade us, perhaps by penning one editorial per day, that everyone who illegally crossed the border should be welcome here. Afterwards, I’ll consider your point of view. Of course, I doubt I’ll live for 30,000+ years. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Meanwhile, more power to ICE and law enforcement to oust criminals and terrorists – an issue American patriots voted for.
