John Thomas Purdy, 94, died at his home in San Bruno on March 15, 2007. He was born in New Castle, England on May 30, 1912. He was a real estate broker with the San Mateo County Board of Realtors for more than 50 years. John was also a member of the Elks Lodge #2091 in South San Francisco and a member of the Western Conference of Teamsters. John was not only a loving father, but a loving grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his three daughters: Dr. Pamela Wright (Nira L. Ray) of Burlingame, Patricia E. Gotelli (Larry Sr.) of Millbrae, and Paulette Roth (Rollie) of Riverside, California and 8 grandchildren: Elissa Twombly (Scott), Larry Gotelli Jr. (Jamie), John Gotelli, Amy Albertyn (Greg),
Allison Helsley (Roger), Andrew Roth, Adam Roth and Fawn Nyvold (Chris), as well as six great grandchildren: Matthew and Amanda, Gianna and Caden and Ethan and Ellie. John is also survived by his dear cousins, Joan and Winifred Futter of the County of Tyne&Wear, England, two nephews: Tom Purdy of Bellingham, Washington and Terry Frye of Seattle, Wash., as well as many other loved family and friends. John was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Leone, in 1998.
Family and friends are invited to visit 4 p.m. March 19 and a funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. at the Chapel of the Highlands, on El Camino Real at 194 Millwood Drive in Millbrae. Private interment will be at Alta Mesa Memorial Park in Palo Alto. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Sutter VNA and Hospice Foundation, 700 S. Claremont St., Suite 220, San Mateo, CA. 94402. Pamela, Patricia and Paulette and their families extend their deepest gratitude and love to Lile T. Maea, who has been John’s caring nurse and a blessing to John and his family.
