A woman who was the second person found dead after a boat capsized Tuesday in the Bay has been identified by the San Francisco Medical Examiner's Office.
Tondra Miller, a 58-year-old woman from Sacramento County, was identified after being found near Treasure Island on Thursday afternoon. The Medical Examiner's Office said Miller also was known as Tondra Madruga.
Two more people remain missing. Since Tuesday, the U.S. Coast Guard had searched for the remaining passengers using multiple search and rescue technologies, including thermal imaging and tide prediction for more than 24 hours, before suspending the search on Wednesday at sundown.
On Thursday at 1:02 p.m., police received an alert from a passing vessel of a body in the water west of Treasure Island, according to a SFPD news release. A police marine unit recovered the body and pronounced Miller dead on scene.
U.S. Coast Guard Capt. Jarod Toczko said at a news conference that it is a high possibility that missing individuals were trapped inside the enclosed main deck or lower deck. In survivor debriefings, passengers told the Coast Guard that people were in the enclosed decks when the boat was sailing.
Out of the 20 passengers aboard the 49-foot cabin cruiser, two have been pronounced dead. The San Francisco Medical Examiner's Office identified Clifford Boisa, 79, of Sutter County, as the other victim confirmed dead.
On Thursday, Boisa's daughter Mary Ann Boisa launched a GoFundMe for her father. As of Friday morning, the campaign at https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-for-mary-ann-boisa-after-tragic-loss had raised nearly $6,000 to cover the memorial costs and honor his legacy. The GoFundMe said Clifford Boisa was a retired Sutter County sheriff's reserve deputy who served from 1987 to 2001.
