So is the music's hopeful lyricism, which has evolved to reflect real life. Christian music has also begun embracing many different genres of music and industry professionals say the quality as improved. Certain Christian artists have also begun to crossover into mainstream music, like Lauren Daigle and Brandon Lake. The latter has a Grammy-nominated song in “Hard Fought Hallelujah” with the country singer Jelly Roll. They hope this isn't just a trend but a movement.

Mohammad Bakri, renowned and controversial Palestinian actor and filmmaker, dies at 72

TEL AVIV, Israel (AP) — The family of Palestinian director and actor Mohammad Bakri says he has died at 72. Bakri was known for exploring Palestinian identity through works in Arabic and Hebrew. His 2003 documentary “Jenin, Jenin” focused on an Israeli military operation and was banned in Israel. He also acted in the 2025 film “All That’s Left of You,” alongside his sons. Born in northern Israel, Bakri held Israeli citizenship and studied at Tel Aviv University. But, Associated Press critic Jocelyn Noveck writers in her review, the film features a blazing Amanda Seyfried whose performance demands to be seen. Directed by Mona Fastvold and co-written by partner Brady Corbet, the team behind “The Brutalist,” the film is hardly a dry history lesson. In fact, it's a musical, with original numbers choreographed by Celia Rowlson-Hall to music by Daniel Blumberg, based on traditional Shaker hymns. It opens in theaters Christmas Day in limited release.
