Justin Timberlake sues to block release of police video from 2024 drunken driving arrest in New York
NEW YORK (AP) — Justin Timberlake is suing to block the release of police body camera footage from his drunken driving arrest in New York’s Hamptons in 2024. The pop star’s lawyers argued in a lawsuit filed Monday that release of the video would “devastate” Timberlake’s privacy and cause “severe and irreparable harm” to his reputation. A lawyer for Sag Harbor said a judge didn't immediately rule following a court hearing. Timberlake was arrested in June 2024 after Sag Harbor police said he ran a stop sign, veered out of his lane and got out of his BMW smelling of alcohol. He ultimately pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump says he plans to attend the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner on April 25, the first time he's done so as president. On Monday evening, Trump posted on his social media site that the group asked him “nicely” to serve as the dinner’s honoree. He said the event ties into celebrations marking America’s 250th birthday. Trump skipped the dinner throughout his first term and also missed last year’s event. He says he stayed away because he felt the press treated him badly. All presidents had attended the dinner since 1924, with the exception of Trump.

The Carnegie Hall event will take place Tuesday night.

Trump takes unconventional approach to communicating to the public about its war in Iran
The Trump administration took more than 48 hours to make any live, public communication with the American people about why it had decided to go to war with Iran. It's part of an unconventional president's unconventional approach, and left President Donald Trump open to some criticism. Until Monday, the president had only communicated through two taped messages on the Truth Social platform, and telephone interviews with more than a dozen reporters. Trump addressed the war in a White House ceremony on Monday, but didn't take any questions. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave a rare Pentagon briefing — where his former Fox News colleague was given a back row seat.
