Serra 3, College Park 1
Junior Donovan Friedland delivered a three-run home run in the bottom of the fifth to send starting pitcher Kelley Crawford to the win at Frisella Stadium.
Crawford walked off the mound after the top of the fifth with Serra (4-1) trailing 1-0 to College Park. The right-hander allowed one run on seven hits while striking out six through five innings to improve his record to 1-0. With junior Jayce Peavey and sophomore Carter Peak on base, Friedland connected for his first varsity home run. It was one of just four Padre hits on the day.
College Park senior Sebastian Alvarez took the complete-game loss, allowing three runs on four hits. The loss marks the first of the season for the Falcons (2-1).
El Camino 6, Castro Valley 3
Senior right-hander Michale McCauley worked six innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits to earn the win for the Colts (1-2) at Castro Valley (4-3) in his first start of the year. El Camino scored in five of seven innings, paced by senior Nicholas Jang, who went 3 for 3 with two runs scored. Adrian Iniguez and Alejandro Topete had two hits and one RBI apiece for the Colts, while Hunter Tamayo, Carlos Alcala and Gabe Garcia each drove in runs.
Capuchino 18, Mission 1
The Mustangs (4-0) exploded for nine runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back to win their fourth straight to start the year at home against Mission-SF (0-2). Sophomore Jaxon Lazzari paced Cap’s 17-hit showing, going 3 for 4 with two doubles and three RBIs. Seniors Jacob Ayoob and Dominic Fanara added three hits one RBI apiece. Senior starting pitcher Morgan Meehan worked four innings to earn the win, allowing onie run on one hit while striking out seven to earn his first varsity win.
Hillsdale 5, Homestead 3
The Fighting Knights (2-0) won their second straight to start the year, as senior right-hander Hugo Guzman worked six innings, allowing three runs (one earned) on eight hits while striking out six to earn the victory in his 2026 debut at Homestead-Cupertino (0-3). Senior Jacob Bonner paced Hillsdale with two hits, junior Jacob-Charlz Gementera had a triple and an RBI, and Jaden Minahan, Engel Vivas and Curtis Lee each drove in runs.
Branham 2, Aragon 1
Branham starting pitcher Troy Quam went the distance, allowing one run of four hits to outlast Aragon junior starter Alex Gosselin. The Bruins (3-1) tallied two runs in the top of the first with RBIs from Quan and Chase Johnston, and it was all they’d need. The Dons (1-2) scratched out a run in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI double from Kai Thornton.
Mitty 3, Carlmont 2
The Monarchs (5-0) rallied for three runs in the top of the first and rode them to victory at Carlmont (2-1) for their fifth straight win to start the year. The Scots scratched out two runs in the bottom of the sixth against Mitty starter Jay Kim, who finished the frame to earn the win. Junior Gabe Lopez worked a scoreless seventh to pick up the save. Senior Ryan Weiss and junior Nathan Werbinski logged a single and an RBI apiece for Carlmont.
In other action ...
Half Moon Bay (2-1) held visiting Lowell-SF (3-2) to three hits in a 5-0 shutout victory on the Coastside.

South City 18, Jefferson 0
The Warriors made quick work of the Grizzlies, needing just three innings for the 15-run, mercy-rule victory in the Peninsula Athletic League Ocean Division opener.
South City (2-1) scored seven runs in the first and eight more in the second. The Warriors ended the game with three runs in the third.
Maydson Jade Quintanilla had the big stick for the Warriors, going 2 for 2 with two home runs, five RBIs and three runs scored. Sydney Semans doubled, homered and drove in four, with Aliyah Arabieh, Kadence Yip and Miley Salvatore all added two RBIs apiece.
El Camino 23, University-SF 17
The Colts missed an extra point, but still came away with the win in a non-league game chock-full of runs.
University (1-2) was no time, scoring four runs in the top of the first. But El Camino (1-0) was in it to win it, scoring three in the bottom of the inning. After a scoreless second, things got crazy. The Red Devils scored 10 runs in the top of the third, only to see the Colts match that output in the bottom of the frame and University still led, 14-13. The Red Devils increased their lead to 17-10 with three runs in the top of the fourth, but the Colts were not to be stopped, putting up a second-straight 10-run inning to take the four-inning win because of darkness.
Juliana Bazlamit had a big day for El Camino. She went 3 for 3 with a homer, double and four RBIs. Alyssa Rueda drove in three runs, while Jenna Bollentini, Sonia Pinell, Isis Valle, Alexa Romo all added two RBIs each.
St. Ignatius 5, Aragon 4
The Dons scored twice in the top of the seventh to take a 4-3 lead, but the Wildcats rallied for two runs in their final at-bat to pull out the non-league win. The game was scoreless through four innings before Aragon (2-4) broke through with two runs in the top of the fourth. SI (2-2) responded with three runs in the bottom of the sixth to set up the dramatic final inning.
Destiny Garcia had three hits and drove in a run for the Dons, who also got an RBI from Olivia Mukherjee. Natalie Jia also had three hits for Aragon. Olivia Dollard had a pair of two-baggers and drove in two runs for the Wildcats. Annie Stetcher had the only other RBI for SI.
Boys’ golf
El Camino 205, South City 225
The Colts got past the rival Warriors at Mariner’s Point Golf Complex in Foster City. Markus Cruz had the low round of the day in leading El Camino, as he finished with a 36. Jairus Bernales came in with a 39 for the Colts, while Jason Tarape and Ace Rose had rounds of 41 and 42, respectively. South City was led by Joseph Preciado and Joshua Gunardi, who shot 37s. Ian Alferez came in with a 48 for the Warriors.
Girls’ lacrosse
Menlo School 21, University-SF 4
It was another Knights’ offensive onslaught as they routed the Red Devils.
Through three games, Menlo has outscored its opponents 61-13.
Hannah Bernthal filled the stat sheet for Menlo (3-0), scoring a team-high six goals, adding four assists and won six faceoffs. Elia Choe added five goals on six shots, while Kaelee Wang and Payton Lee each netted hat tricks, as well.
