Editor,

San Mateo County Sheriff Christina Corpus continues to prove that rather than serve the people of San Mateo County, as her position implies, she would rather cause the community expense, angst and conflict.

Corpus stands to make Millions out of this affair, regardless of the appropriateness of her conduct. She's not going to let this go. The BoS took the wrong approach on this matter, several times over, but I'll write my own letter on that.

Thanks for your letter, Dr. Lowenthal, but why would Corpus resign when this issue may result in the end of her public law enforcement career? She needs the money for as long as she can get it, while also attempting to extract the largest payout she can from San Mateo County. Perhaps Corpus can be forced out of office using alternative methods? Such as folks putting Corpus under the microscope and reporting her for any infractions and unlawful behavior while she attempts to carry out her duties as Sheriff?

Agreed. She is costing the County millions, and jeopardizing public safety by her selfish campaign to remain in office.
