IN MEMORIAM
Harold & Margaret Cunha
Residents of San Mateo
Harold passed away at home on November 22, 2017, at the age of 92. Exactly eight months later Margaret, his beloved wife of 70 years, peacefully passed at home on July 22, 2018, at 91.
Harold was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army as a machine gunner. During one of the many battles in Bougainville, Solomon Islands, he was wounded and awarded the Purple Heart. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 36 years. As a homemaker Marge enjoyed countless hobbies, growing beautiful orchids, and baking her famous Greek cookies. Hal's passions were fishing and his very bountiful vegetable garden. Most of all was their love for each other and their family.
They are survived by their loving daughters Lynn Valueff and Marsha Shea; cherished grandchildren Jason Valueff, Jessica Janicki, Ryan Shea (Kristen), and Matthew Shea (Sylvia); treasured great-grandsons Josh and Tanner Janicki; and two loveable great-granddogs Maya and Lexi. They are also survived by many dear nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.
Hal and Marge were preceded in death by their son-in-law Robert Valueff; Hal's sister Marian Barrett (Jack); and Marge's sisters Irene Simmons (Hal), Tula Pagonis, and Dorothy Fanning (Joseph).
At their request, no funeral services were held and their ashes will be scattered off the coast of Martins Beach in Half Moon Bay. Donations in their memory may be made to Mission Hospice, Pathways Hospice, or a favorite charity.
