Bay Area residents who pleaded no contest to the 2021 robbery of a French bulldog named Prada have received sentences of four to six months in jail, said Sean Gallagher, San Mateo County chief deputy district attorney.

The victim and dog owner were staying at the South San Francisco Travelodge when 8-month-old Prada was taken from him, along with the keys to his vehicle, on June 29, 2021. A female associate was enlisted to get him to reveal his location, at which point he opened his door — expecting her — and was attacked by four individuals who took the dog and keys, according to the DA’s Office.
