Gabriel Martin got it done both sides of the ball.
Gabriel Martin
On the mound, Martin danced around five hits and five walks to allow just one earned run. After the Colts jumped ahead in the second, the senior recorded a double and two RBIs at the plate. In the end, Martin earned the win as the Warriors claimed the rivalry “Glove” trophy with a 3-1 victory Saturday at El Camino.
Rocco Bromaghim gave the Colts the lead with an RBI in the second to drive home Dylan Bellentini. South City answered with two runs in the third and an insurance run in the fourth. Junior Emilio Oseguera paced the Warriors with two hits, while sophomore Yordonis Medina-Pineda logged an RBI. El Camino was paced by Adrian Iniguez’s two hits.
Colts starting pitcher Mikealo Osorio went the distance in a losing effort, allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits, four walks and two hit batsmen, while striking out seven. South City sophomore Vince Bernal worked two scoreless innings to record the save.
This marks the second time the two teams have met this year. El Camino won the first 7-3 in an April 1 matchup at the South San Francisco Tournament.
