Public schools operate within the broad context of communities, not in isolation. The most successful can leverage the support of parents and caregivers, community volunteers, outside funders, local and county government, health and social service providers, preschools, summer and after school programs, libraries, public safety providers, businesses and employers, non-profits, colleges, trade representatives, and a host of others.
Héctor Camacho has the vision, experience, expertise, and courage to collaborate, make connections, and develop relationships that will help move the achievement needle for San Mateo County students. In the face of a national decade-long “learning recession,” as identified in the recently released Stanford/Dartmouth Education Scorecard 2026, there is no time to waste. The time to elect Héctor Camacho as superintendent of schools in San Mateo County is now.
