Editor,
Regarding Matt Grocott’s complaint about a basketball player getting freed from a Russian prison ahead of a U.S. Marine (“I’ll be home for Christmas?” in the Dec. 20 edition of the Daily Journal).
Do you think it was harder to get a person released for possessing marijuana than someone accused of being a spy? Maybe? Possibly? And of course Mr. Grocott has to bring up Benghazi, which Joe Biden had no control over. And the no-win departure from a 20-year war. Similar to how we left Vietnam. The only thing he neglected were Hillary’s emails. Always a favorite right-wing talking point.
I have no doubt that the Biden administration has been, and is trying, to get Mr. Whelan freed. Spies, alleged or otherwise, take longer. Maybe if the right devoted 1% of the energy it spends obstructing Biden to helping him, more would get done. Geez. What am I thinking? Forget that. This is one area that Trump might have had an advantage, since he and Putin were such buds.

Hey Mr. Ortiz, you glossed over the most important part – a pot-smoking anti-American Brittney Griner was traded for Victor Bout, a guy nicknamed the “Merchant of Death.” Obviously it’s not hard to get a person released for marijuana offenses if you’re offering up a notorious arms dealer as a trade. What’s next, receiving an American imprisoned for spitting on the sidewalk in exchange for a notorious drug dealer or human trafficker? With Biden, it’s probable. Sorry, but as usual your left-wing talking points don’t cut the mustard. If the left devoted any energy it spends Making America Last to Making America Great, Again, more would get done, to the benefit of all Americans. What am I thinking? I’m thinking about America. Try it, and tell your friends on the left. And please, stop trusting any left wing rags. BTW, you may want to review the communication showing Pelosi failed the US Capitol on January 6. Something we all knew.
Hey, Terence
I think our comments crossed each other while tumbling through the DJ's filters. If you haven't already done so, take a look at Mark's column.
Merry Christmas!
Mark’s column today is one of his better entries but I have to wonder whether the folks continuing to live in the past will heed his message. Especially with the continuing drip of news showing corruption and censorship at the highest levels, along with the recent release showing Pelosi’s failure to protect the Capitol on January 6. Merry Christmas!
Good morning, Steve
Check out Mark's column today.
Merry Christmas!
Steve: Not much of a surprise that the D-K syndrome shows up again: Not only does someone not understand, but he must demonstrate over and over again, that he doesn’t understand that he doesn’t get it! Seems like a growing problem in the country today! Just look at all the fools still believing Trump’s Big Lie. How is it possible to be that gullible? That’s certainly something I don’t understand, - although I am fully aware of my lack of understanding of such a phenomenon.
Glad tidings, Jorg
The D-K syndrome theorists believe it applies to everyone... just like Christmas spirit.
God Jul!
Is there such a thing as a D-K mirror that we can gift Jorg for Christmas?
Your generosity is underwhelming, Dirk! Instead of such an expensive gift, perhaps you can cook up an example of what you think I might see?
Dirk, we first need to verify the mirror has instructions for use before we gift to Jorg. I’ll go halfsies with you if you can find one.
Even to you? How, or where? Example?
Ray: Of course, potentially it would apply to anyone, and why shouldn’t it? But since you brought it up, can you give me an example, where it applies to yourself, or perhaps me? Or, did you just toss it out, for the sake of it?
Hi, Jorg
It's nearly Christmas, so we'll just leave it as something the theorists believe applies to everyone. Maybe later...
God Jul, again!
