I attended the Burlingame City Council meeting on Monday. I waited two hours to use my three minutes for public comment on a dangerous crosswalk at 1441 Bellevue Ave. in Burlingame.
I came before the City Council to remind them of this dangerous crosswalk and the “Daylighting law” by the state of California, effective Jan. 1, 2025. All city crosswalks must have 25 feet of red curb up to the marked crosswalk (No parking up to the crosswalk).
To date nothing has been done.
I have almost been hit many times and have seen many people, including mothers with strollers, almost being hit by cars, especially eastbound — visa-versa.
I publicly stated my sole concern for pedestrian safety and car accidents. Will have to wait and see … keep your fingers crossed and your eyes open — watch those speeding cars in residential areas.
