Editor,
Charles Stone will get things done for San Mateo County as a member of the Board of Supervisors. And he will honor the voices of all its citizens, including women and people of color.
Charles was first elected to the Belmont City Council in 2013. Over his 10 years in office, he has created jobs, repaired our infrastructure and encouraged others to engage with the process. He has brought people together through an inclusive approach to governing.
But he hasn’t just served Belmont. He has worked on several regional projects, including joining the SamTrans Board, finding solutions to traffic congestion and improving regional housing. His demonstrated leadership is recognized by the endorsements of Congresswoman Jackie Speier, Assemblyman Kevin Mullin, Supervisor Carole Groom and many others. Charles is ready for the challenge of county leadership.
Having seen him debate his opponent, it is clear that Charles is more prepared, more knowledgeable and more likely to improve our quality of life. He is the superior candidate by far.
Lastly, a person’s character is revealed by what they do when no one is watching. Charles has created opportunities for youth, worked with our schools and cared for the elderly. He has comforted those in pain, he has been at the hospital with friends in need and he has sacrificed for others — all when the cameras aren’t on.
I will enthusiastically vote for Charles Stone. I hope you will join me.
