State Sen. Josh Becker announced that his district office has launched an emergency food drive in response to the federal government shutdown, which could halt SNAP benefits as soon as Nov. 1.

The loss of SNAP, also known as CalFresh, would leave over tens of thousands of people across Senate District 13 without critical support, according to his office.

What Mr. Becker conveniently leaves out is that Democrats are the sole cause of the loss of SNAP. If you’re affected by a loss of SNAP, begin to vote Republican. Call your representatives and tell them to open the government. Meanwhile, if you know any Democrats, hit them up for food and see if they’re willing to support your families in need. Do we need monitors to monitor whether donations go directly to support families in need? Or only for specific families?
