A San Carlos woman was taken into custody after she allegedly tried to strike a loss prevention officer with an alcohol bottle she was trying to steal at the 17th Avenue Safeway in San Mateo Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

At about 3:56 p.m., the woman, identified as Shannon Householder, 32, allegedly took about $130 in alcohol and also assaulted another loss prevention officer in the parking lot. She was detained near the intersection of 18th and Palm avenues. Store surveillance video was also obtained further substantiating the probable cause. During a search of her property, Householder was found in possession of multiple stolen bottles of alcohol belonging to Safeway. Householder was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for her charges, according to police.
