A 41-year-old San Bruno resident was arrested on suspicion of possessing child sexual abuse material after an investigation triggered by a tip from a regional task force, police said.
In a statement on social media Wednesday, the San Bruno Police Department said investigators opened the case after receiving information from the Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force about a possible suspect in the city.
Detectives later identified the suspect, who was taken into custody, police said. Officers also served search warrants at two locations in San Bruno, where investigators seized evidence related to child sexual abuse material. Police said they also carried out a search warrant operation in the 200 block of East Avenue as part of the investigation.
The suspect was booked into San Mateo County Jail, police said.
